Hristian Goretsov

Multi-Disciplinary Experience Designer

Open to roles — Netherlands & Remote
01

Summary

I'm a multi-disciplinary experience designer with four years across digital health, studio client work, and complex commerce platforms. I move comfortably between UX research, UI craft, product strategy, design systems, and a bit of front-end — because the most interesting problems rarely sit inside one of those buckets.

I grew up making things: stop-motion Lego films, evenings filled with drawing and sketching, and a lot of tinkering in my dad's garage. That early loop — imagine, make, show someone, fix it — still shapes how I work. I prototype quickly, sit close to engineering, and write specs that pay attention to the features, not just the look of the project. Currently leading design across SaaS products and storefront work at Ultra Commerce, while finishing my MSc in Human-Computer Interaction at Utrecht University. From the very beginning, even throughout my studies, I've worked cross-functionally with a wide range of professionals, facilitated workshops, told stories with the work, and stayed clear-headed when the pressure climbs.

Currently open to product, experience design, and design roles in the Netherlands or fully remote.

Experience

Ultra Commerce
Experience × Product × Service Designer
Eindhoven, NL · 2025 – Present

Designing across Ultra Commerce's SaaS products and the international storefronts merchants run on the platform. Scope spans product UX, design systems, and end-to-end web design — built around making complex commerce infrastructure feel modern, intuitive, and usable.

  • Co-designing Horizon / Meridian, UC's all-in-one commerce management SaaS — covering ETL pipelines, automation, and CMS in a single product surface.
  • Designing UC AC (Ultra Commerce Agentic Commerce), the AI-powered layer of the platform — including agents for shopping, content moderation, and advertising.
  • Built two custom design systems from the ground up: one for Glyde Marketplace and one for the Ultra Commerce SaaS product.
  • Led storefront redesigns for international merchants — CALPIA (California), Laneway (Melbourne flight company), Three Ireland (broadband), and Glyde Marketplace, an Australian built-from-scratch web shop.

Deity
Product × Experience Designer
Eindhoven, NL · 2023 – 2025

Studio-style design role across a portfolio of clients and Deity's in-house product work. Sharpened range and speed across product, web, and presentation design.

  • Designed UX/UI for Orchestrator, Deity's SaaS automation tool for commerce platform management.
  • Led a full website redesign for Deity's company site, including SEO optimisation, shipped in Framer.
  • Led the e-commerce redesign of UK retailer Blossoming Gifts — occasion-led discovery, product detail pages, and conversion-aware brand updates.
  • Designed two custom presentation systems — one for company showcase, one for product showcase — used across sales, conferences, and partner pitches.
  • Worked across the full project arc on most engagements: kickoff → research → wireframes → high-fidelity → handoff, often as the sole designer.

Tools — Figma (Design × Jam × Make × Slides), Framer, Adobe Creative Suite, Cursor

InnerBuddies
UX/UI Designer × Front-End Developer
Venlo, NL · 2022 – 2023

Health-tech start-up working on gut-microbiome insights for everyday consumers. My first product role — where I built the muscle of designing and shipping in the same loop.

  • Led the full redesign of the InnerBuddies official website, with SEO optimisation built into the IA.
  • Translated my own designs into front-end code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — closing the gap between design intent and shipped product.
  • Contributed to the brand's evolving visual language at a stage when the system was still being defined.

Tools — Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Education

MSc, Human-Computer Interaction
Utrecht University
Utrecht, NL · 2024 – 2026

Thesis — Bridging the User Flows and Data Flows: A Multi-Perspective UX/UI Design Challenge. My thesis investigates how UX and UI design can render hidden system processes — particularly the data flows underlying user-facing software — more visible and intelligible to the people interacting with them. Using Ultra Commerce as a real-world research site, the work examines how user flows and data flows intersect, and surfaces design patterns capable of communicating complex system behaviour clearly. It combines applied practice with academic reflection, contributing to both the industry partner and the broader HCI field.

BSc, UX/UI Design
Fontys University of Applied Sciences
Eindhoven, NL · 2020 – 2024

Bachelor of Science in UX/UI Design. Coursework spanned interaction design, user research methods, prototyping, design systems, visual design, and front-end development. Graduated with a final-year project building a SaaS platform — focused on intuitivity, efficiency, and effectiveness, especially for non-technical users.

Recognition & Achievements

The Mushroom Lamp
Innovations Fair · Utrecht University
Utrecht, NL · 2025

Worked in close collaboration on "The Mushroom Lamp" — a 3D, working concept for a smart bedside companion in the form of a mushroom-shaped lamp. The piece explores how a furniture-scale assistant can help people unwind in the evening, supporting time-tracking, ambient lighting, and gentle activity prompts as an alternative to phone-based wind-down.

Music × ICT Competition
Utrecht University
Utrecht, NL · 2025

A story-driven music-theory game — a concept for an educational video game that teaches music theory through fantasy-driven gameplay. Designed to support students preparing for music-theory finals, solo or in groups, by translating dense theory modules into game mechanics and narrative beats.

Jumbo Hackathon
"Crowd's Best Choice"
Veghel, NL · 2024

Our university team was selected for the final round — the only academic team competing against Jumbo HQ's professional design and product divisions. The proposed feature set was integrated into Jumbo Supermarkets' app architecture.
